Sales ^^

Account Executive- This position is responsible for sales and account management to end-user customers, including large business customers and government accounts.  Responsible for all sales/account management activities for assigned customers.  This includes pre and post-sales activities and day-to-day sales account management.

Senior Account Executive- This position is responsible for sales and account management to end-user customers, including large business customers and government accounts.  Responsible for all sales/account management activities for assigned customers.  This includes pre and post-sales activities and day-to-day sales account management.

Account Manager- This position is responsible for sales and account management to end-user customers, including large business customers and government accounts.  Responsible for all sales/account management activities for assigned customers.  This includes pre and post-sales activities and day-to-day sales account management.

National Account Manager- :   Functions include application design and sales presentation to assigned Inter-exchange Carrier (IXC), Internet Service Provider (ISP), Strategic Account and Wireless customers for sales opportunities, including management of assigned accounts to maximize the sales revenue from each account.

Sales Director- The purpose of this position is to develop, execute and manage a sales team(s) and sales programs targeted at large (National or International) systems integrators for the national sales telecommunication business.

 

Field Operations  ^^

Network Technician- The purpose of this position is to install service and maintain communications network transmission systems, including digital cross connect, digital loop carrier, channel banks, SONET equipment, digital switching and ancillary support systems.  Performs technical field activity as it pertains to installation, maintenance and repair in the city network.

Network Application Engineer- This position is responsible for pre-sale engineering objectives for territory as established by tw telecom.  Primarily responsibly for revenue and applications activities within assigned territory include direct and in-direct end user involvements; internal/external value messaging; pre and post-sales activities; day-to-day account management; inter-departmental engagement.

Outside Plant Engineer- The purpose of this position is to design and manage the installation of the local telecommunications network, and coordinate fiber placement and other services with the cable group to specified custom buildings.  This will include all activities to extend the fiber network into buildings.  It will also be responsible for all vertical and horizontal riser copper and fiber cables.

Operations Manager- This position will manage the installation and operations of the local telecommunications network and be responsible for coordinating fiber placement inside building engineer and other services for the city.

Operations Director- The purpose of this position is to serve as the City’s single point of contact on all operations and engineering issues within the specific city.  The individual directs all of the operations and engineering staff within the specific city and serves as the right hand to the City General Manager, in support of all City operational and/or engineering issues.  It is accountable for the City Capital budget and meeting or exceeding all operational parameters as specified by Senior Management. 

 

National Operations Center ^^

Maintenance Network Analyst – This position is responsible for good customer service techniques and establishing a good rapport with team counter-parts.  Acts as the first point of contact for customer complaints on network, transport or switch, related troubles.  Acts as the coordinating element between the customers, division operations and other internal or external entities for all network configurations and Method of Procedures (MOP).   Maintain the trouble ticket and the daily shift logs as well as maintaining internal and external contact lists of customers, vendors, LECs, IXCs, CAPs, etc. Comprehends the basic theory of telemetry—voice and data communications.  Demonstrates complete knowledge of DS0, DS1 and DS3 designs, signaling and performance characteristics.  Understand the alarm systems and protocols; have knowledge of various types of test equipment and troubleshooting practices. 

Technical Support Engineer – The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) provides Tier II complex technical support in the assigned specialty. These specialties may include, but are not limited to, Data/IP, SS7, switch, or transport technologies. The position teams with Network Analysts, field technicians, the Engineering group, Tier III, and various vendors in the resolution of complex network and equipment problems.  The TSE is a subject matter expert in the assigned specialty. The TSE will also coach and assist NOC technicians and field technicians in troubleshooting complex problems with the tw telecom network and equipment.  The TSE is responsible for disseminating technical information to work groups internal to and external to the NOC.

Service Delivery Specialist – Responsibilities include receiving orders from sales and processing in appropriate systems, follow up to completion.  Begin order process within tw telecom and process to vendors as necessary.  Handles the more complex orders.  Provides FOC’s to appropriate parties. 

Customer Maintenance Analyst – The CMA is a position that is expected to provide adequate support for the NOC SSMG, TSMG and INOC.  It is structured to provide the basic overall knowledge of systems, policies and procedures to be able to support the Maintenance environment. Acts as first point of contact for all customer complaints and network troubles.  Maintains the trouble ticket database.  Routes technicians as needed for trouble calls, system alarms, and customer service.  Acts as coordinating element for all troubles with customers and Division Operations.  Perform escalations, internal and external, for customer troubles.  Interfaces with all internal and external agencies on escalations

Provisioning Network Analyst – This position is responsible for processing customer orders, configuring edge equipment, coordinating service turn-up efforts, and satisfying customer service needs. Coordinate testing for service turn-up with transport provisioning and customer.  Configures edge customer equipment and ship to customer location.  Interacts with and provides guidance to customer engineer or customer vendor to ensure service quality.

 

Information Technology ^^

OSS Application Engineer – The OSS Application Engineer position is responsible for the first tier support of the OSS applications at tw telecom.  The incumbent needs to have a broad range of skills, but the functions should focus more on technical needs than personnel administration.  This position will be capable of leading a team of more junior technicians to identify the work to be performed, assigning tasks, and managing the workload.  In addition, this position will be required to work between departments to stay abreast of business trends, current and future requirements, and technological evolution.  Working independently as well as with a diverse customer base, is a must.

Software Engineer – The Software Engineering  position supports tw telecom divisions and the tw telecom National Operations Center (NOC) by analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining software applications that directly support Switched and Transport Services.  Take a major role in making necessary language/platform (e.g., Java, C++, Unix, PC, etc.) decisions on how best to automate the business.

Network Engineer – Staffed by an experienced person who has educational background and data networking experience to serve as a technical leader capable of designing, installing, and trouble-shooting an enterprise WAN/LAN.  With general supervision and guidance provide technical expertise in support of the design, engineering and administration of a large nationwide WAN consisting of 3 corporate and over 40 remote locations.  Responsible for designing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and maintaining a variety of data communications equipment and services.  Must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches and network management systems

Systems Analyst –  Under general supervision formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Analyzes and revises existing system logic and documentation problems as necessary. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Analyzes and tests procedures and information systems for efficiency and effectiveness
